Things I Buy

I've had a couple of people ask me about some of the different assets I invest in. This changes by the month as I find new things to throw money at (instead of shoes), so this list isn't exhaustive. I'll also add a list of assets that I'm currently watching. This doesn't include savings accounts, ISAs, LISAs, etc.

Note: I occasionally sell and buyback the below shares, so the percentages are the amount I've made since initial purchase. And no, I don't count the money I make trading towards the £1,000,000 goal, since I can't touch it until I'm old (assuming I even survive that long)! Until then, I essentially just treat it like a game.

I also have a stash of physical silver/gold, which I hang on to for inflationary reasons (and to sell during recessions). If you don't want to hold the physical stuff, then silver/gold mining shares are the next best thing. I just like coins, so prefer to buy those. When comparing charts of the stock market vs silver/gold price, you'll notice metals tend to go up in value as the market goes down.

I've been asked a few times about crypto currencies. I'm not well versed in the technology behind them, but I do see them as useful experiments for digital currency in the future. If you find the concept of crypto currencies interesting and can afford to lose money trying to time the bubbles (Bitcoin is a roller-coaster), then good luck to you and I sincerely hope you do well. I keep some Bitcoin and Ethereum, but it is money that I am willing to lose. Luckily I've done quite well over the last few years and I've now made enough interest on my original investment that I was able to pull out the lump sum and still have some left to play with.

Disclaimer: I no longer work in the finance industry (at least not directly), so please do not take any of the content here as professional advice. If you aren't sure about something, then I would suggest waiting until you fully understand the product/system before putting money into it. Copy me at your own risk! And no, I will never post links to my Forex trading account. I no longer day trade and would not recommend it to anyone. I got lucky, but it could have easily gone the other way!
